Re: This Website

If you check the "what's new" link on the genealogy page, you'll see even more than just pictures that Ian has been posting. He's expanded our records considerably in a number of ways. :family:

Re: Movie Reviews

Yes, Lawrence of Arabia is famous for its dessert scenes.
Especially delicious-looking is the frothy little trifle he scarfs down while crossing the desert.

Re: I've been put in this mood

Did any of you know that I'm a huge Dolly Parton fan?
This kind of authentic American folk singing moves me.
Are you shocked?

Re: Texting

point well taken. I think, though, we're referring to overuse when it supplants real contact. I would not be one to categorically condemn technological intercommunication. Just this week, Mom and I were able to visit with friends from long ago, Peter and Leonie Brunt, because of an internet re...

Why are you the worst person to bring this up?
Are you texting overmuch?

Have we not heard counsel from the General Authorities about the need
to curb our techno-interactions in favor of REAL interactons?
...Seems they're always a step ahead, duznit?

Or is that the tv remote?

And at the bedside, is that a high-five he's offering?

Re: Mothers Who Know

...counsel the Lord in all thy doings and thou shalt direct his paths.

Being familiar with the author of the article, I'm not the least surprised by the bias and hubris of its tone.

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths, Enwrought with golden and silver light, The blue and the dim and the dark cloths Of night and light and the half-light, I would spread the cloths under your feet: But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly bec...

Here are more specifically on singing: "Tis sweet to sing the matchless love Of Him who left his home above And came to earth - oh wondrous plan - To suffer, bleed and die for man For Jesus died on Calvary That all through Him might ransomed be. Then sing hosannas to His name: Let heav'n and ...

Re: Facebook the other Myspace?

Oh thank you, Ian, for the validation of my feelings. The link is a refreshing source of provocative reason. Here's one of my favorites: “A dead thing can go with the stream, but a living thing can go against it.” (G.K. Chesterton) And another: "I told him he was a very sad man, that colle...
