Margaret - Facsimile

Post by Edward »

POWERS
Facsimile can multiply her personage to create up to seven individuals; these can be replaced instantly should one be injured, incapacitated, or even destroyed. These can also be joined with each other to restore her to a single entity. All of them share one psyche which receives the knowledge and experiences of the entire collective. She cannot be killed unless she is divided into all seven parts and then all are killed simultaneously; killing less than all seven would spontaneously generate a new replica of each one killed ad infinitum. She also possesses super-human fighting abilities and is a master of multiple fighting styles.

BIO
Facsimile, or ‘Fax’ to her teammates, has the power to reorganize herself into seven separate personages with each one yet remaining the same person - each is identical in all respects, and shares the same singular psyche. Though each of the seven may appear to think and function as an individual, they are in fact the same person, and when she conglomerates, all of her acquired knowledge and skills merge into the one shared mind. As a result, Fax can sometimes become emotionally unstable, and she has periodic streaks of multi-polarism as she reconciles the experiences of seven beings into one. To maintain their stability, Fax usually limits herselves to only a few Margarets at a time. Even then, her personality can often be overwhelming, and she is generally careful not to impose all of herselves on those who are unfamiliar with her abilities and characters. Nevertheless, she is extremely well-liked, and she has a unique sense of humor and a delightful taste for the bizarre. As a consequence of the multiplicity of her selves and the singular experience of being many people and yet the same person all at once, Margaret has what can only be described as a unique outlook on life, seeing it through seven individuals yet understanding it as one. The strangeness of her personae also gives Fax a surprisingly keen perspective, and she is known for seeing all sides of the issue at hand, and then some.

As a result of her unusual physiology, Facsimile is also a master of combat, a super-powered martial artist with beyond-human skills. She is extraordinarily flexible, and her ability to regenerate fresh new selves when wounded or exhausted gives her seemingly limitless stamina and endurance. Margarets spend hours every day mastering different forms of combat, and in one training session she can achieve more than many can in months. Often she will practice against a number of her selves for hours at a time, and since she knows her own every move, she has learned her own strengths and weaknesses to an extent impossible for normal, single-entity individuals.

Margaret is a seven-member army of one, making for a might which is far greater than the sum of its parts. Every mission is accompanied by two or three Margarets at least, and she usually leaves another Fax at home should the mission go awry. In addition, there is a single Margaret who has been secretly travelling the world for years in disguise, learning all she can about the martial arts and the world around her. This also means that should herselves be killed in battle, she can still come back to fight another day by using the final self to create herself again. This has proven to be one of the most important elements of her power, for Facsimile can regenerate herselves instantly should one or even a number of hers be killed in battle. In fact, Facsimile can endlessly create new selves which are created fit and ready for battle, making her an unstoppable and endlessly perpetuating foe. For every Margaret killed in battle, a new one can be generated as long as one of the seven survives. No single clone is the “master copy;” all of them are perfectly identical and perfectly Margaret, sharing the same mind, spirit, and psyche - meaning that in order to defeat Facsimile, you’ve got to kill her seven times - all at once.
