Lily had always been attracted to peace and harmony. As a young girl, she was typically well-behaved and a star student in school. Making decisions, however, was difficult for Lily to do at times. One of the more difficult decisions for Lily was which college to attend out of high school. She eventually went to Yale University and graduated summa cum laude in international business. After graduating from law school, Lily moved to live with her Aunt Lucy in a rural area outside of Washington D.C. A young woman with good intentions and a big heart, Lily wanted to be able to care for her aunt while starting her new job as an aide to the President of the United States. It was while living with her aunt that Lily met and fell in love with Steve Mott.
Unbeknownst to Lily, she and Steve were similar not only in their mutual love and affection for each other and in their high regard for truth and goodness, but also in their possession of super powers. Lily's powers were latent until an experience with the President provoked her powers to manifest themselves. Upon the discovery of a potential assassination attempt, the President was quickly escorted to Air Force One along with his aides. But the plot to kill the President had already been executed at that point. The villains had taken control of the plane and were guiding it towards a scientifically induced solar radiation storm that would engulf Air Force One at a high altitude, spelling certain doom for the leader of the free world.
Once Air Force One was struck by the solar radiation storm, Lily's powers burst through, and she knew she had to act decisively. Lily found that she could suddenly foresee three courses of action with every decision she had to make, and accurately know the result of each decision. Her prophetic insight allowed her to save the President and all passengers on board, gaining her the respect and reverence of an entire nation.
Soon Lily learned to harness her powers and use them at will. She took on the name of Tripoli, and allied herself with the Inconceivables at the request of the Entity, who had befriended Lily during her time in Washington. Later, she learned that she could also stun adversaries by channeling her powerful prophetic potency as an offensive bolt of mental energy. A stern official with a soft heart, Tripoli assumes roles of national importance at the highest levels, and is the liaison between the government and the heroes who protect it.
Even before her powers were cognizable, Tripoli was destined to help mankind. Now she spends her life in that very pursuit by sharpening her prophetic skills and working together with the Inconceivables to further the ideals she embraces. Ambassador, heroine, wife, and now mother, Tripoli sees the future with the resolve to preserve her friends and nation. A public figure with prophetic powers, she is one of the greatest allies the Inconceivables could ever hope for.
Tripoli is also the mother of Jane, who can eat an incomprehensible quantity of craisins.
