Re: PLEASE READ - a personal essay by Betsy Croft
"Frankly, James, it seems a bit selfish and hypocritical to accuse others of not fostering interpersonal connections while threatening to abandon them" I'm responding to bullying and other types of harmful and egregious behavior displayed on HFW. "Was your last post an example of the ...

Re: PLEASE READ - a personal essay by Betsy Croft
many of the witches burned were not fragile snowflakes but strong women. when you bring up peoples supposedly fragile positions and claim that people who do not feel safe do not know what safe means you are minimizing the potential damage caused by bullying that has verifiably been displayed on this...

Re: PLEASE READ - a personal essay by Betsy Croft
honor thy father and thy mother, brother.
the public shaming paraded above pushes me away from HFW. intimate personal relationships build trust and openness. i am not safe to share much here because of the example above.
i thank you, betsy, for posting such a personal and wonderful essay.

Re: Circumcision
Steve said, "It's been the norm for millennia, not just the norm in today's world. It's also been the norm for some of the best men to ever live across those centuries, so it's not just some fashionable trend among the worldly. It was even an ordinance established by the Lord (see Genesis and A...

Re: Circumcision
Ian said, "i'm not aware of any medical organization that currently “recommends” circumcision. the AAP, for example, announced in 2012 that: “new scientific evidence shows the health benefits of newborn male circumcision outweigh the risks of the procedure, but the benefits are not great enough...

Re: Circumcision
Steve, I am not sure I understand what you are talking about with regards to philosophies creeping up? My point was that circumcision’s supposed benefits are so minimal that many medical associations consider it a cosmetic move rather than a medical one. Circumcision is also a permanent move. My poi...

Re: Circumcision
Ian said, "a pattern unfolds as we.." It looks like that when we are selective. Human rights is one of the focuses of Drs opposing circumcision, but the people and groups they reference also frequently discuss the other aspects of circumcision. The reality is that most medical associations...
