Just thought I might contribute one of my poems...
Just thought I might contribute one of my poems...
Vanity In Holy Places
In the evening glow
Circumspect with ardor
I cogitate your candor
In an instant I awake
My center quakes
I am parched earth
I am left a lumping clod
I offer platitudes
Like a stagnant brook
Boiling with brackish
Rank as solecism
I am forfeit
I have failed
I am faulted
The fault is mine
Duck me in your fountain
Let cool relief balm the burn
Breath your breathe in mine
My nostrils smell foreign fresh
Defuse the offensive odor
Infuse this dust from nod
With sweetness
Like petals of flowers
Upon the mountain
You are clarity
Make me light
Drink me like the rocks
drink the dirt from the water
Leave me pure...

Since you put up with that one, here is one I came up with to answer the request from a friend of mine in Las Vegas that owns a Pig processing plant. She asked me to send her my thoughts in prose or verse... This is my response...weconvene wrote:Thanks Ian...Ian wrote:thanks for the contribution, george. i enjoyed reading it.

Family poems - yay! I wish I could write poetry, but mine always fall flat. Send more!

I found George's poem very moving. I am impressed with its depth and color and sincerity. I'm captivated both by the diction and the imagery. Good work, George!
