BYU's Sexual Assault Issue

to be clear, byu plans to modify its sexual misconduct policy. they are not changing the honor code.

byu updates policies all the time. the advisory council's report described numerous significant developments surrounding the school's sexual misconduct policy during the past five years.

the report also noted that most universities are currently struggling to develop effective methods to address sexual assault on campus.

we know why byu is targeted, despite maintaining one of the safest campuses in america (see here for example). byu is a battle zone for people who want to attack the church. according to its mission statement, byu is "founded, supported, and guided by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." we can expect these attacks to increase.
