I honestly did not know how long this book was till I saw a hard copy of the book. But I did it. So the book is not totally like the movies. Edmond Dantes (great symbolic last name) alias count of Monte Cristo is a hero in all movies when in fact he is a very revengeful man who feels justified for his revenge. Dantes never marries the love of his life Mercedes like all the movies portray.
The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas is a worthwhile read because of Dantes' incredible adventures. He is a classic swashbuckler!
