I won!

Post by Edward »

Hey all, I won a super cool contest and now have a $75 dollar gift card (not redeemable for cash :() and need help knowing what to buy. I know most are gonna say it's all dumb and whatever but for those that actually wanna help, which is the best choice for my collection? I'm deciding between these three, any one of which will be free!

This is a miniature of Sauron's helmet that's over 8" high and made of real metal, a pretty fantastic piece:

This is Leia in her disguise from Return of the Jedi, really cool and would go great with Luke:

This is a miniature of Eowyn's helmet from Return of the King, a beautiful design, but smaller than the other two choices; it's about 4 1/2" tall:

So what do you think? Any suggestions?

Where is this gift card valid? (In other words, from where did you win it?)

They're the people I get all my Star Wars and Lord of the Rings figures from; the card works on a limited number of items and these are the only ones worth getting. They have lots of weird stuff, but a ton of amazing things too. Their Star Wars line is the best you can get, bar none.

I'd get the Sauron helmet. It's simply the coolest one. It would make a great conversation piece, too.

I like the helmet, the smaller the better, it's hard to carry those things around - I mean those objects of art

if it were me, I'd totally go with sauron's head, i mean helmet. Now that should be the centerpiece of our Thanksgiving meal! We could turn it into a Lord of the Rings cornucopia!

But you're overlooking Captain America, Spider-man, the "This is no cave" scene, and the really cool artist model.

And if you're looking for evil centerpieces, which it appears you might be, why not the delightful Chucky doll replica they offer?

Oh, actually, an important sidenote:

I've noticed, Edward, that you hot-link to images from around the web. Be extremely careful with this method, since some sources will actually replace the image on their servers that you posted on this site with a grotesque or pornographic image. And then that's posted in this forum for everyone to see. (It really does happen).

A better strategy might be saving the image and then uploading it to a separate image host where it won't be tampered with. Since the images you're using take a little bandwidth from their owners, some owners take offense and fight back.

I just thought I'd warn everybody before Huntingtonfamily.org has an unfortunate, perhaps disturbing incident.

Because those items mean nothing to me! Ok, the Captain America is pretty cool, but those all exceed $75.

Besides, I already ordered the Sauron helm. It'll look great behind my other figures and statues![/quote]

Woah woah woah since when did Noah join the boards? Korihor didn't send you here, did he? No, I guess he wouldn't suffer any rivals here. In any case, you do have a point Noah, the Sauron helm really is amazing. If I were to get a Captain America, I'd get a whole figure, not just his shield.
