After seeing what Disney did to the Muppets, I can't imagine what disasters this will lead to. What a shame. At this point it's only a matter of time before Disney allies itself with Wal-Mart and McDonalds to take over the world, followed by the crowning of Oprah as their Queen. It's coming, folks. It's coming.NEW YORK (Reuters) - Shares of Marvel Entertainment soared more than 25 percent in premarket trade after Walt Disney Co announced it will acquire the company and its library of characters including Spider-Man, Iron Man and the X-Men.
Marvel shares last traded at $48.40, up 25.2 percent from their closing price on Friday.
Disney shares closed at $26.84 on Friday.

I'm kind of for it, to be honest. Animated X-Men adventures have been mediocre at best. I'd love to see a quality Spider-man cartoon!

Re: Disney buys Marvel
They have a bunch of animated Marvel flicks, but they're usually Cartoon Network type stuff. But honestly - a Disney produced Spider-Man cartoon? I mean, with music and songs? Spare me! This is all heading in the wrong direction I tell you, the wrong direction. Spider-Mouse? Iron Duck? and Goofy as Wolverine?

Pixar...we could let her do it. Yes. She could do it. Yes, precious, she could.

Augh! What a horrible, horrible picture!
And besides, PIXAR wouldn't do Marvel since Disney isn't really involved in their creative process. They're so independently successful that they wouldn't need to use Marvel's stuff. Not only that, Marvel Studios is its own film company now; they would never drop out of the movie making game with the 8 - 9 films they're already in the process of making.
